This past weekend (May 5th) benefit auctioneer Tom DiNardo presided over the 12th Annual Derby Day benefit auctions for his nonprofit client. In the past this charity had always used a “Volunteer Auctioneer”. This year the charity had taken a virtually non-existent risk and contracted DiNardo & Lord Auctioneers. The suite of services they had received from benefit auctioneer Tom DiNardo in return is what lead them to their great success in their benefit auction.
Important Note #1: Many nonprofits foolishly believe that “Free Auctioneer” saves them money. According to Tom DiNardo, “The word Free is just another four letter word in my vocabulary that ultimately spells disaster that the nonprofit regrettably discovers after the benefit auctions have concluded.”
Conclusion: To make money you must spend money. Nonprofits should spend their money wisely and hire the benefit auctioneer that will truly deliver the best results for their future benefit auctions.
